Our Ethos

At Herries our motto, ‘Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter’, ‘With Bravery, Loyalty and Happiness’ underpins everything we do. Our pupils try and push beyond their personal boundaries to achieve the best that they can.

Herries is a co-educational preparatory school for 3-11 year olds. Attaining high standards, we nurture and challenge our pupils to achieve their very best. Small class sizes allow us to monitor each child's progress and help them to explore and develop their talents.

In addition to a broad and balanced curriculum we offer a wide range of activities for children to experience.  With a thriving sports, music and drama programme, everyone can discover what they are good at.

Herries is a family school located in the former home of Kenneth Grahame, author of The Wind in The Willows. Feeling at home in a caring environment is, we believe, essential for young children to feel secure enough to push themselves to achieve their very best.

Through providing such individual attention we can identify early any particular talent or concern that needs to be addressed to ensure that every child who leaves Herries has achieved their full potential and is ready for the next step on to Senior School.
