Extended Day

Herries provides wrap around care for our pupils from 7:30am until 6:00pm.

‘Breakfast Club’ takes place in the Reception classroom with a continental breakfast followed by ‘Early Bird’ from 8am until the start of school.

There are numerous after school activities available to children including cheerleading, martial arts, drama, cookery, lego club, netball and chess. Our pupils take advantage of these fantastic opportunities to try something exciting and different with their friends in a familiar environment.

There is also a daily homework club for prep pupils, so these children return home to enjoy family time knowing their work is done.

From 4.30pm until 6pm the Reception classroom turns into a ‘home from home’ where children enjoy reading, lego, drawing and some television. We don’t want those children who stay for after school club to feel that they’re missing out so we make it as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. They are able to wind down after the academic demands of the day. It’s also here that some great friendships between the school years flourish.

The children eat a tea of sandwiches, fresh fruit and vegetables along with Mrs Pegg’s delicious ‘cake of the day’.
