Entry to Herries

Herries school admits boys and girls between the ages of two to eleven. Herries is an inclusive community and non-selective. Therefore in line with our Admissions policy children will be offered according to where they were placed on the waiting list. We try where possible to give siblings a priority place.

Parents and prospective pupils are most welcome to visit and tour the school. The Headteacher is happy to meet prospective parents at any other time and individual appointments can be made by contacting the school office. Children are also welcome to have a ‘taster day’ to have a personal experience of our educational delivery.

Parents are encouraged to register children as early as possible so that he/she is eligible to be considered for a place. There is a non-returnable registration fee of £100. Registrations can be completed online or a registration form is available from the school office.

The offer of a place is accompanied by an ‘Acceptance’ form which must be completed, signed by both parents as appropriate, and returned to signify acceptance of the place. The school usually requires the acceptance form to have been completed two terms in advance of the pupil starting. A deposit of £500 is required, returnable when the pupil leaves Herries. When the ‘Acceptance’ form has been completed, parents and the school are bound by the contractual terms of this agreement.
